Fall in Love ... Girl Mixed Media Collage


Step 1
Choose a black and white drawing and tear around image and adhere to A3 watercolour paper. 
Paint in flesh colours using watercolour felt pens and / or flesh colour Gelatos, using your aqua pen for blending. Add black and white pen highlights to hair.
Step 2
Adhere collage papers to background. I have used old dictionary papers and paper napkins. Apply a light coat of gesso over the papers to tone down the patterns and print.


Step 3 and 4
Add stencilled patterns into your background over the top of your papers. Choose the colours you like. Spritz the papers with a light spray of Brown or Sepia coloured Ink. ( I have used Walnut Ink Crystals added to distilled water to make my own  spray)
I had pre - printed some rose stamps in black archival ink onto Gelli Printed papers.
 Cut out around your rose stamp and position onto your collage. Glue with a matt medium.
 Using a filbert brush in Deco art Avocado Acrylic paint , paint in leaves around the roses.

Step 5
Finishing your collage by hot gluing an assemblage of embroidered flowers and leaves onto your work. Use a brown waterproof pen to outline the leaves. Add some pink acrylic paint to shadow areas in the background.
 Choose a stencil to add modelling paste texture to your background. Cut out your words from printed paper and glue into position, outline the paper in the brown pen

Your beautiful girl is now ready to be framed!

"Sing a Little Louder  " Mixed Media Tutorial I have created this piece on Canvas 30 x 40 cm But the project would also work on Journal paper. Step 1. Collage pieces of old music sheets and paper doilies. I use # Decopage Matte Medium  Step 2 Choose your stencil and sponge the image with Gesso Step 3 Use spray inks over your canvas. I have used Kaisercraft inks Step 4 Spray with water and let the inks do their thing! Step5 Apply more stencils #Tim Holtz, over your canvas with Texture Paste Step 6 I have used Butterfly stamps by Kaisercraft,  Stamp out onto lunch wrap paper using Black Stazon ink, cut out and glue onto canvas.  Choose a paper napkin with flowers, peel off the backing and collage onto your canvas. Workshop Wednesday Canvas Tutorial "Who She Really Was"

This mixed media canvas formed from the idea of finding your own identity, the butterfly symbolising the transformation journey we are all on, focusing on the belief that the journey will be worth it.  I have found when in the natural it seems impossible faith can show you how strong you have become, that you can bloom, be free and sing your own song.  You can be you! Step 1  Choose your favourite stencils and randomly apply patterns over your canvas with Gesso. When this is dry, apply spray inks over the stencilling. I have used Kaisermists. Step 2 Collage torn strips of Music sheet paper to your canvas using Modge Podge                            Step 3 Adhere tissue Paper Flowers cut from paper napkins .
