 I Love this Angel Mixed Media Artwork 


 So much so I altered the photo by editing it, Love the change of colours and effects!
And best of all I only had to paint it once,
 but get to see how it would have turned out using a different palette choice!
Which colours do like best?

Workshop Wednesday- " Sing a Little Louder" Mixed MediaTutorial

"Sing a Little Louder  " Mixed Media Tutorial I have created this piece on Canvas 30 x 40 cm But the project would also work on Journal paper. Step 1. Collage pieces of old music sheets and paper doilies. I use # Decopage Matte Medium  Step 2 Choose your stencil and sponge the image with Gesso Step 3 Use spray inks over your canvas. I have used Kaisercraft inks Step 4 Spray with water and let the inks do their thing! Step5 Apply more stencils #Tim Holtz, over your canvas with Texture Paste Step 6 I have used Butterfly stamps by Kaisercraft,  Stamp out onto lunch wrap paper using Black Stazon ink, cut out and glue onto canvas.  Choose a paper napkin with flowers, peel off the backing and collage onto your canvas. Step 7 Load your filbert paintbrush In Titanium White and highlight the flowers.  Paint in a few extra leaves using Jade and Titanium.  Dyrbrush the larger butterfly wings in Titanium. Workshop Wednesday Canvas Tutorial "Who She Really Was"

This mixed media canvas formed from the idea of finding your own identity, the butterfly symbolising the transformation journey we are all on, focusing on the belief that the journey will be worth it.  I have found when in the natural it seems impossible faith can show you how strong you have become, that you can bloom, be free and sing your own song.  You can be you! Step 1  Choose your favourite stencils and randomly apply patterns over your canvas with Gesso. When this is dry, apply spray inks over the stencilling. I have used Kaisermists. Step 2 Collage torn strips of Music sheet paper to your canvas using Modge Podge                            Step 3 Adhere tissue Paper Flowers cut from paper napkins . I really like to use the Decopage Napkin/Tissue paper Medium for this step Step 4 Using a music stencil paint in the design using a dry brush and Burnt Umber paint.
